On June 21, the government approved the Procedure for the use of the State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy Efficient Transformation. UAH 759 million will be used for an additional program of energy efficiency and strengthening the resilience of Ukraine's energy system.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
The funds will be used primarily to reduce loan rates for energy efficiency projects and the installation of alternative energy sources.
According to the Prime Minister, the state is expanding the opportunity to obtain preferential loans so that both businesses and citizens can reduce electricity consumption or create an additional source for its generation.
The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, provided more detailed information about the approved document. He said that the budget funds of the State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy-Efficient Transformation will be directed in the following directions:
- financial support of measures and state target programs in the field of energy efficiency;
- increasing the use of renewable energy sources and alternative fuels and reducing carbon emissions;
- financial provision of compensation, reimbursement, reduction in the price of obligations of individuals and legal entities under credit agreements concluded for the implementation of energy-efficient measures;
- introduction of energy service;
- increasing the use of renewable energy sources and alternative fuels and reducing carbon emissions;
- fulfillment of debt obligations for borrowings received by the state for the implementation of investment projects in the field of energy efficiency;
- increasing the use of renewable energy sources and alternative fuels and reducing carbon emissions.
