Violators were discovered thanks to video surveillance cameras at one of the stores

In Vinnytsia, employees of the Municipal Guard found violators who were dumping waste from grease trap maintenance and fat disposal into the Dihtyanets River.

Citizens have repeatedly complained about the systematic pollution of the river, namely greasy spots on its surface and a persistent unpleasant odor, Vinnytsia City Council reports on Facebook.

It is noted that two reports of administrative offenses were drawn up against the violators. The case file was sent to the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"Vinni residents who live near Dyogtianets contacted us repeatedly with reports that someone is systematically polluting the river. They complained about the stench and greasy stains on the surface of the water, which appeared periodically once every few weeks. We took this situation under control and with the help of video surveillance cameras in one of the stores found violators," said the head of the "Municipal Guard" KP Vitaliy Chigur, adding that the violators were found by representatives of the company servicing grease traps and fat disposal.

He noted that the quality of drinking water depends on the general condition of all water bodies in the community. Small rivers and streams, which are also part of the ecosystem, must remain clean, because they enter the Southern Bug.

In the message, it was emphasized that the employees of the "Municipal Guard" have been conducting inspections of water bodies and their adjacent territories in the community for more than three years. This helps to minimize cases of pollution of rivers and streams and to improve the sanitary condition of water bodies and nearby areas.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that oil products were poured into Lake Kyrylivske, which formed a large oily spot on its surface, in Kyiv in the Obolonsky district on Wednesday, February 21.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Vinnytsia, eco-inspectors discovered the illegal felling of 112 trees in the forest strip of the Raigorod territorial community, which caused 902.6 thousand hryvnias in damages.
