Holosiivskyi National Park in Kyiv will be one of the cleaning locations

Ukrainian ecoactivists on Saturday-Sunday On September 16-17, a clean-up march will be held, that is, 5 protected areas will be simultaneously cleaned of garbage accumulated due to human negligence and Russian ecocide.

Everyone can join the campaign in nature reserves, or organize cleaning on their own in any park or other corner of nature, the animal protection public organization UAnimals reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the actions will be held in:

  • Zaporozhye – on the island of Khortytsia;
  • In Kyiv – in the national natural park "Holosiivskyi";
  • Transcarpathia – in the Uzhan National Park;
  • in Ivano-Frankivsk region – in the national park "Hutsulshchyna";
  • Mykolaiv Oblast – in the "Buzky Grad" National Park.

Animal rights activists emphasized that these national parks are home to red-listed animals that suffer from garbage, including spotted salamanders, lynxes, ermines, moose, deer, and others.

"20% of nature conservation areas of Ukraine are affected by the war. Now it is impossible to help reserves in occupied territories or under fire, so we are concentrating our efforts to preserve rare species of animals throughout the country," said UAnimals founder Oleksandr Todorchuk.

It is noted that in order to participate in the cleanup, you need to go to the initiative's website at link and follow the 5 steps described on the page.

"We call on people and companies to self-organize for the Cleanup March outside the locations named by UAnimals. You can clean up on September 16 and 17 in the nearest park or any location you like to visit. Post all photos and videos from such events under the hashtag stopeoideukraine and tag UAnimals," the animal rights activists emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Zaporizhzhia, in the Khortytsia beach area, activists removed three eco-stickers "Let's save the Dnipro together!" 15 tons of various garbage on an area of more than 15 hectares.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kharkiv, in the KhTZ area, activists began to clear the Mokry Zhikhor ravine from garbage that had been accumulating there for decades.
