In Lviv, the concept of the municipal industrial park "Sygnivka" was presented, which is designed to transform an abandoned industrial zone into a center of logistics and production.
It is planned that the park will be aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in the IT industry, telecommunications, food industry, health care, light industry, woodworking, etc., reports ZAXID.NET.
The material said that the final concept is still being developed. It is planned to be approved in April at the city council session. The plot of land will remain in communal ownership, but a private management company will be chosen to administer the park in July 2023. Construction of the first phase of the park is planned to begin in 2024.
It is noted that the Sparrow Lviv private industrial park is currently operating in Signivka, and the M-10 industrial park is under construction in the Ryasne-2 industrial zone of the investment company Dragon Capital.
The authors emphasized that in 2018, the city council approved the Program for the future development of the industrial zones of Synivka and Ryasny-2 regarding the sale of vacant communal plots for production and the creation of a number of industrial parks. The creation of a municipal park was approved in the summer of 2022. The development concept was developed by city council specialists together with the companies Abt Associates and Good Governance Fund.
Andrii Pavliv, head of the LMR Investments and Projects Department, said that the management company will be engaged in the search for investors and the construction of the appropriate infrastructure. This project is planned to be implemented within 10 years in four stages.
"This is a rather unique concept not only for Lviv, but also for Ukraine as a whole, because now there is a real logistics boom in Lviv, and industrial parks, which are focused on increasing the turnover of goods from Europe, are experiencing rapid growth for obvious reasons", said the project manager for supporting the reforms of the Kyiv School of Economics Maksym Nefyodov.
He emphasized that logistics alone cannot ensure long-term economic growth of the city. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure production, create additional jobs. According to the concept, within the park, the resident will be able to receive the entire chain of services – from design, advertising and writing a business plan to production, engineering, packaging and export.
"This plan will allow the city to create up to 1,500 jobs and increase investments by 1.5% for 10 years," said Nefyodov.
The first deputy mayor of Lviv, Andriy Moskalenko, noted that the municipal industrial park will allow the city to attract industries that are critically important from the point of view of economic development.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Strategy for the Development of Industrial Parks until 2030.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, Lviv plans to complete the construction of a waste processing plant by the end of 2023.
