In the air of Kyiv during the week of 12 to 17 of December, 2022, an exceedance of the average daily maximum allowable concentrations of nitrogen dioxide was detected with, h times
Compared to the previous week, the content of impurities has hardly changed, the weekly reports on air pollution from the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory informs about it.
According to the data of the observatory, the exceeding of the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) in terms of the average daily content of nitrogen dioxide was:
- in 2.3-3.4 times – on Demiivska and Bessarabska squares, Obolonsky and Peremogy avenues, Lesya Ukrainka boulevard, in the Hydropark area, Akademik Strazheska, Dovzhenka, Inzhener Borodin, Hetman Pavlo Polubotka, Kaunaska and Sklyarenko streets;
- no excesses were observed at 37 Nauky Ave. (in the area of the meteorological station).
Exceeding the MPC by average daily content of sulfur dioxide:
- in 1.4-2.6 times – on Demiivska and Bessarabska squares, Obolonsky and Peremogy avenues, Lesya Ukrainka boulevard, in the Hydropark district, Akademik Strazheska, Dovzhenka, Inzhener Borodin, Hetman Pavlo Polubotka, Kaunaska and Semyon Sklyarenko streets ;
- no excesses were observed at 37 Nauky Ave. (in the area of the meteorological station).
Other exceedances of MPC by average daily content:
- carbon monoxide – 1.1 times (December 14) on Victory Avenue;
- formaldehyde – in 1.3-2.3 times Demiivska and Bessarabska squares, Nauka, Obolonski and Peremogy avenues, Lesya Ukrainka boulevard, in the Hydropark district, Akademik Strazheska, Dovzhenka, Hetman Pavla Polubotka, Kaunaska and Sklyarenko streets.
Specialists of the observatory selected and analyzed 1220 atmospheric air samples from 16 stationary stations.
The report emphasized that, according to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the nature of the weather in the next two to three days will not be favorable dispersion of harmful impurities in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
As EcoPolitic before, register of permits for emissions of polluting substances into atmospheric air was created in Kyiv. This will make it possible to identify the centers of the greatest pollution, forecast and improve air quality, etc.
