An online map of the radiation background is functioning in Ukraine

In the Kyiv region on Monday, July 31, the radiation background level did not exceed the permissible value of 30 μR/hour, even in Chernobyl.

In Kyiv, the radiation background level reached 13 μR/h as of Monday morning, reports the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory on Facebook.

It is noted that the highest level of radiation background was found in Chernobyl – 22 μR/hour, and the lowest – in the urban-type villages of Baryshivka and Teteriv (Piskivka).

  • Vyshhorod – 10 μR/h;
  • Teteriv – 9 μR/h;
  • Fastiv – 14 μR/h;
  • Bila Tserkva – 13 μR/hour;
  • Myronivka – 13 μR/h;
  • Boryspil – 11 μR/hour;
  • Yahotin – 11 μR/h;
  • Baryshivka – 9 μR/hour.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Ukraine there is an online map of the radiation background Saveecobot, on which information about the level of radiation background at the occupied Zaporizhia NPP in Energodar is available. Measurements of the radiation background are carried out every day directly on the industrial site of the station.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Ukraine created an online map of the radiation background in the Chernobyl exclusion zone and other parts of the country as part of the bGeigies for Ukraine project. Monitoring is carried out using mobile radiation background measurement devices with a GPS sensor and a logging function.>
