In Kyiv, citizens will be able to dispose of unnecessary furniture for free, including broken and old chairs, cabinets, armchairs, etc.

Such garbage belongs to construction waste and cannot be left in the yard, forest, or household waste container, reports the Waste Management Center on Facebook.

In the material, it was emphasized that arbitrary assembly of furniture in places unsuitable for this threatens with a fine from UAH 340 to UAH 1,360.

"So let's dispose of it correctly and with care for the environment," urged the Waste Management Center.

The Center provides furniture removal and disposal services for both individuals and legal entities.

Furniture disposal service for individuals is free of charge. It is only necessary to pay for removal from UAH 350 in Kyiv, depending on the volume, floor of the apartment, availability of a freight elevator.

For legal entities, each type of furniture is calculated (for example, a chair – UAH 60, a wardrobe – UAH 180), and transport services are also paid.

Specialists of the Center take out old furniture, disassemble it into parts and send it for recycling or disposal

Furniture is disassembled into components and plastic, metal, glass, textiles, and wood are sorted separately:

  • metal and glass are sent for recycling;
  • plastic, depending on the type, for recycling or recycling;
  • wood is chopped into chips and sent to a pyrolysis boiler for heating;
  • textiles go to high-temperature incineration.

You can order the service by calling +38 (098) 043-03-03 from Monday to Friday (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) or by sending an email to office@recycle.com.ua.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, they began to be accepted for safekeeping disposal of electronic waste, or e-waste, all outdated equipment and its accessories, including old chargers.
