The largest environmental violation of the week was detected in Chernivtsi region – for almost UAH 5 million

During the week, eco-inspectors calculated 8.8 million hryvnias in damages

In Chernivtsi region, environmental inspectors found 166 trees cut down along the Stanyntsi – Petrashivka highway, causing damage worth more than UAH 4.7 million.

This was the largest environmental violation of the week of February 16-22, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Facebook.

The case file was handed over to the police.

It is noted that the three anti-leaders also included the three regions:

  • Zaporizhzhia region, where the municipal enterprise "Mykhailivskyi Komunghosp" pumped groundwater for 2.7 million hryvnias without permits. Eco-inspectors sent a lawsuit to the court for compensation of damages;
  • Khmelnytskyi region, where 18 trees along the highway were cut down in the Khmelnytskyi district for 540,000 hryvnias. Also, eco-inspectors calculated 1.3 million hryvnias in damages as a result of the sea of ​​fish in the Chornoostrivska territorial community. The materials of these cases were handed over to the law enforcement officers.

The message said that the eco-inspectors spent a week 253 control measures and made 269 protocols on administrative offenses. The total amount of fines imposed reached 68 thousands of hryvnias.

The press service added that during this time also:

  • eco-inspectors calculated 8.8 million hryvnias in damages for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation and presented claims and lawsuits for 3.9 million UAH;
  • charged to the State budget 55 thousand hryvnias;
  • environmental violators voluntarily and forcibly compensated 750 thousand hryvnias of losses.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Bukovyna, an official from the forest farm was informed of the suspicion of exceeding official powers, which led to the illegal cutting of trees for 900 thousand hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, eco-inspectors in the Kharkiv Region calculated 2.2 million hryvnias in damages and presented a claim to the Izyum Municipal Industrial Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise for abstraction of water from boreholes without a special permit.
