Water from domestic taps is unsuitable for drinking or cooking

In Brovary, Kyiv region, at a meeting of the commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations, the necessary measures for the burial site of 19 thousand cubic meters of food products of animal origin were discussed.

The products were in a warehouse that was destroyed by the russian military, reports the mayor of Brovary Ihor Sapozhko on Telegram.

They were damaged in a fire.

Sapozhko noted that the Techenergotrade company will at its own expense waterproof the surface of the land plot against atmospheric precipitation and build a network of observation wells to monitor the state of underground groundwater in the upper aquifer.

The site will also be fenced off in the near future.

In addition, the local department for ecology and nature management, the State Production and Consumer Service, a branch of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention will strengthen daily control over the implementation of measures and continue monitoring the state of atmospheric air in the area of residential buildings.

Sapozhko also emphasized that the water from the in-house columns can be used exclusively for domestic needs, but is unsuitable for consumption or cooking, according to experts' conclusions. Adequate warning signs must be placed near each column.

Earlier EcoPolitic informed, that the destruction by russian troops of the Plast-Box Ukraine LLC plant in Chernihiv caused environmental damage to over 41.5 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets said that the destruction of the Irpin dam caused colossal damage to the environment and settlements.
