The Environmental Committee's agenda for December 4: what MPs will consider

People's deputies will discuss the issue of waste management of the extractive industry and preservation of the objects of the nature reserve fund 

On Wednesday, December 4, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will hold a meeting via video conference at 15:30.

EcoPolitic has prepared the committee's agenda for its readers.

The MPs will consider 2 draft laws for which the Committee has been designated as the lead agency:

  • No. 12188 “On Mining Waste Management” submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The document will be considered if the Main Scientific and Expert Department has a conclusion.
  • No. 11024 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine’ to Ensure the Preservation of Territories and Objects of the Nature Reserve Fund” (second reading).

The Environmental Committee is to submit its proposals to:

  • Draft Law No. 12129 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Increasing Competitiveness in the Labor Market through Vocational Training” submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
  • Draft Law No. 12129-1 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Vocational Training”, submitted by the People's Deputy of Ukraine Hanna Tretyakova
  • draft law No. 12188 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Reforming the Sphere of Burial and Funeral Services” submitted by MP A. Motovylovets and other MPs of Ukraine.

The MPs will also consider proposals to the Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2025.

In February, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine published the draft Law No. 12180 “On Mining Waste Management”, and in April, it held a meeting of the working group to discuss the financial guarantees provided by this document.
