The platform shows the level of importance of technology to achieve zero emissions

An interactive database, the ETP Clean Energy Technology Guide, has been launched with projects that contribute to achieving net zero emissions targets.

The structure contains information on more than 400 individual technology projects and components of the entire energy system, reports International Energy Agency.

For each of these technologies, the database contains information about the maturity level and build plans for development and deployment, as well as the cost and performance improvement goals of the leading players in the field.

Thus, the level of readiness (maturity) of technologies has an indicator from 1 to 11, where:

  • 1 – initial idea;
  • 4 – early prototype;
  • 7 – pre-commercial demonstration;
  • 9 –commercial operation in the appropriate environment;
  • 11 – achieved stability.

A readiness level of 1-8 indicates technology maturity, while a readiness level of 9-11 indicates market readiness.

The database covers projects in the cement and concrete, metallurgy, chemicals, energy, construction, carbon capture and storage, transportation, and other industries.

The platform also shows at what stage in the value chain the technology is being introduced and its level of importance in achieving zero emissions.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the European Commission has presented a list of key indicators for monitoring progress towards goals in the field of environmental and climate protection until 2030, as well as a long-term vision until 2050.

Also, 20 years of preparations for a green transition of the European Union was not enough to achieve environmental standards, and the mechanisms of decarbonization of the economy do not work and need to be improved in all European countries.
