Nataliya Humenyuk, the head of the press center of the "South" operational command, reported that the occupiers are destroying the coast and black soil in the Kherson region.

On the air of the Yedyni Novyni telethon, she noted that the Russians are using prohibited weapons that destroy and burn all ecosystems, reports Ukrinform.

"They follow the tactics of total destruction. They are trying to destroy the coast completely. In this way, as they think, to stop the Defense Forces," Humenyuk stressed, adding that the occupiers use carpet bombing of populated areas.

According to her, the occupiers use chemical substances to destroy black earth and maximize the affected areas.

"They are not stopped by the fact that it is a prohibited weapon. Everything that is not needed is burned. In fact, the entire ecosystem is destroyed, plants, animals and all the biogenesis that is in that part of the area die," she said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Kherson region due to the actions of the occupiers about 300 hectares of steppe were burned in the unique biosphere reserve "Askania-Nova".

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Russian scientists have confirmed the rapid increase in salinity of the Sea of Azov, which has almost equaled the indicators of the Black Sea. In occupied Mariupol, the Russians blocked the rivers, which is causing an ecological catastrophe.
