State support will enable the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives in nine regions of Ukraine. These include the construction of solar power plants, the installation of heat pumps, the energy modernization of buildings, and other energy efficiency measures for businesses and communities. The projects will be financed by the Ukraine Decarbonization Fund.
According to the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, this will reduce CO2 emissions by 4,288 tons annually.
Solar power plants, heat pumps, energy modernization
- A 3.8 MW solar power plant will be built in Zakarpattia. It will also be equipped with a 6.9 MWh energy storage facility. The energy will ensure the stability of the national grid. Emissions are expected to be reduced by 1,437 tons per year.
 - In Zhytomyr, the Decarbonization Fund will finance the installation of an RSE 4500 cogeneration plant. It will provide heat and electricity to a local enterprise. A stable energy supply is critical for this company, as it specializes in freezing plant products. After the project is implemented, annual emissions will fall by 1,850 tons.
 - The energy component is part of the renovation of industrial buildings in Ternopil. Heat pumps and a 0.28 MW solar power plant will be installed here, and a charging station for electric cars will also be set up. It is expected that these works will reduce CO2 emissions by 106 tons.
 - For the first time, the Decarbonization Fund will finance an energy modernization project for a condominium. This involves a high-rise building in Lutsk, where the facade will be insulated, the roof will be thermally insulated, and the doors will be replaced.

Energy efficiency projects will also be implemented in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, as well as in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
EcoPolitika previously reported on how a comprehensive building modernization project, together with the construction of a solar power plant, made a condominium in Lviv independent of energy supplies.
