Park named after Gorky was one of Kharkiv's snaps

In Kharkiv, eco-inspectors calculated 3.18 billion hryvnias in environmental damages from the shelling by russian troops of the park named after Gorky, which happened on August 9, 2022.

The shelling destroyed and damaged buildings and structures of the park, as well as destroyed 73 trees, it is reported State Inspection on Telegram.

As a result of military aggression, about 55,000 m2 of the park was littered with plastic, wood, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and glass. The volume of generated waste reached about 16,500 m3.

"The settlement materials have been sent to the Operational Headquarters of the State Inspectorate and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv region," the report said.

SEI also added that the park named after Gorky was one of Kharkiv's business cards.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in the Kharkiv region, fighters of the 92nd brigade freed from the occupiers Dvorichan National Nature Park, Velikoburlutsky Steppe and Izyumska luka regional landscape parks.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kharkiv destruction of the "Kharkiv" hotel by russian troops caused damage to the environment in the amount of 752.3 million hryvnias. Waste plastic, wood, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass and paper littered 12,980 m2 of the city's territory as a result of the shelling.
