The planned modernization of the SEI under Bill 913091 has not been carried out

In Ukraine, people's deputies are developing a project to liquidate the State Environmental Inspectorate, taking into account the transfer of some functions to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the DEI budget – for the needs of the Armed Forces.

I reported about it on Monday, May 2 Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management Oleksandr Marikovsky on Facebook.

The State Environmental Inspectorate, a body that was known before the war for its corruption and intimidation of businesses at various levels and which could do nothing with the real polluters, should be a thing of the past, ”he explained.

Also Marikovsky added that the modernization of DEI is planned, according to the bill № 3091, and was not conducted.

Updated. People's Deputy Olena Kryvoruchkina commented on the initiative.

We will remind, in Ukraine unblocked the process of working with the bill № 3091 "About the State ecological control" which in July people's deputies approved in the first reading.

As EcoPoliticа reported earlier, environmentalists criticized the appointment of a minister protection of the environment and natural resources of Ruslan Strelts in the conditions of war, because for 5 months of leadership of the acting minister, the Ministry of Environment has not had significant success.
