In Transcarpathia, a sorting line was launched at the solid household waste landfill, where 15 tons of waste will be shredded every hour.

The waste will be separated into black metal thanks to magnets and small fraction, the manufacturer of equipment for crushing and sorting of waste Olnova Recyclingtechnik – Hammel-Ukraine reports on Facebook.

The company explained that after shredding, the waste is buried in a landfill, but its volume is significantly reduced. In addition, after sieving, the organic fraction can be used for technical compost.

It is noted that the sorting cabin is designed for the simultaneous selection of 16 fractions of recyclable materials, equipped with lighting, ventilation, and antibacterial protection. Each workplace is equipped with an emergency stop button.

This is the 16th sorting line of the company and the first in Transcarpathia. Earlier, similar equipment was installed in Lviv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Ternopil and Kyiv regions.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Volyn in Kiverka a sorting line will be built at the landfill in the village of Zabrude, where organic and solid municipal waste, as well as tires, will be processed.
