Eco-inspectors and policemen were allowed to enter the territory only after lengthy negotiations

In the Zakarpattia nature reserve, eco-inspectors discovered the felling of 30 oak trees, which caused damage in the amount of 7.4 million hryvnias.

According to the instructions of the management, the security of the park prevented the work of eco-inspectors and the police, namely, they closed the entrance to the territory, the State Ecological Inspection in Zakarpattia region reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the event took place on the territory of a protected park of one of the sanatoriums near Mukachevo.

The report said that trees were destroyed near the entrance to the park. Eco-inspectors called an investigative team.

"After the arrival of the police, the park guards, on the instructions of their management, closed the entrance to the territory, preventing the investigative actions of the police and DEI employees," the press service said.

It is noted that the eco-inspectors called an additional police team regarding the fact that they were not allowed to carry out the survey and record violations. Employees of the State Inspectorate and the police were allowed to enter the territory only after lengthy negotiations.

"The DEI will file a claim against the violators and send the materials to law enforcement agencies," the message emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, illegal and unlimited cutting of trees worth 22.5 million UAH was discovered.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, experts of the public organization "Forest" suspected the forestry farm "Galsillis" in the Lviv region of falsification of sanitary felling of trees.
