Measures to regulate the number of predators will be allowed

The Defense Council of the Poltava region has banned hunting in the region during martial law.

Hunters were urged to comply with the new requirements, the State Inspectorate of the Central District reports on Facebook.

"Never ignore the facts of poaching that you may have witnessed," urged the eco-inspectors.

However, as it is noted in the Poltava Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting on Facebook, users of hunting grounds will be able to conduct biotechnical activities. These measures concern direct protection of animals, preservation of their habitats, improvement and expansion of the fodder base, regulation of the number of predators, acclimatization and reacclimatization of hunting birds and animals.

"The decision of the Defense Council of Poltava region dated August 19, 2022 regarding the ban on hunting in the territory of Poltava Oblast for the period of martial law has been put into effect," the message said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Volyn region will not open the hunting season 2022/2023 to increase the population of the main species.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Poltava region, in the city of Horishna Plavni, a poacher was found who caught fish and crayfish worth more than 4 million hryvnias at the Kamian reservoir.
