In the de-occupied forest farms, administrative buildings were broken into, equipment was looted and burned

In Kharkiv region, thanks to a successful counteroffensive, the Armed Forces liberated 150,000 hectares of forest in 5 forest farms: Kupyanskyi, Chuguyevo-Babachanskyi, Balakliiskyi, Izyumskyi, and Vovchanskyi.

Although it is currently difficult to estimate the full amount of damage caused by Russian troops, the State Forestry Agency is mobilizing the necessary resources to support the forests of the Kharkiv region, reports the head of the State Forestry Agency Yuriy Bolokhovets on Facebook.

He said that the State Forestry Agency is currently resuming the work of the management staff of forest farms and checking the state of the material and technical base.

"We have never lost touch with the region. Even before the liberation of Kharkiv region, we received information about the total destruction of some farms," ​​he said Blokhovets

He also added that in the deoccupied forest farms of administrative buildings were demolished, equipment was looted and burned, and hundreds of hectares of forest were lost due to fires.

Blokhovets also said that many foresters who remained under occupation showed courage and loyalty to Ukraine. However, there were also tragic cases – the occupiers executed the director of one of the enterprises.

"Undoubtedly, the law enforcement officers will conduct a thorough check. Traitors and collaborators who sided with the enemy should be held accountable according to the law," he emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Kharkiv region 3 reserves were liberated from the occupiers by fighters of the 92nd brigade.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kharkiv eco-inspectors calculated UAH 3.18 billion in losses the environment from shelling by russian troops of the park named after Gorky, which happened on August 9, 2022.
