From now on, in real time, Kyiv transmits official and reliable information about air quality to the site, which is followed by the whole world

In Kyiv, official data from the city's air monitoring system was integrated into the international platform of the IQAir company.

For a long time, information about the air quality of Kyiv was transmitted to the site from several anonymous sources, which affected its objectivity, Oleksandr Vozny, head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the KMDA, reported on Facebook.

The Swiss company IQAir forms a world rating based on data on the state of the air in 93 cities of the world from sources integrated on their website.

Vozny explained that the lack of official sources for Kyiv affected its position in the world ranking. However, gradually the situation began to change, because the circle of data providers expanded. In particular, the data of the public network "LUN MistoAIR" began to be displayed on the IQAir map.

He noted that recently, the joint efforts of the "LUN" teams and the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the KMDA managed to integrate official data from the city air monitoring system in Kyiv on the IQAir website.

"This means that from now on, in real time, Kyiv transmits official and reliable information about the air quality of the site, which is followed by the whole world. I am convinced that this will have a positive effect on the objectivity of the formation of the Kyiv air quality index on this service and the correctness of the future ratings of the IQAir website," Vozny wrote.

As EcoPolitic before, Kyivans will be able to quickly receive notifications about deterioration of air quality in the "Kyiv Digital" application.
