The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has released new translated Best Available Technologies and Management Practices (BATM) reference documents for air emissions, organic solvent surface treatment, forging and foundry industries.
This will help start the eco-modernization and restoration of the domestic industry, as well as allow Ukrainian manufacturers to enter European markets, reports Mindovkillya in Telegram.
It is noted that the documents are available on the department's website:
- Monitoring of air and water emissions from installations subject to the IED Directive ;
- Surface treatment using organic solvents, including chemical protection of wood and wood products ;
- Forging and foundry industry .
The press service called on the public, the scientific community, authorities and other stakeholders to read these materials and join the discussion on their implementation.
"Mindovkilya continues to work on the implementation of the reform of reduction and control of industrial pollution", – emphasized in the message.
The agency explained that one of Ukraine's obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU is the implementation of Directive 2010/75/EU "On industrial emissions" (integrated pollution prevention and control). The conclusions of BATM are the basis for establishing maximum permissible emissions and issuing permits for installations.

And also regarding the production of pig iron and steel, cement, lime and magnesium oxide and about energy efficiency.
