Lutsk has invested 3 million hryvnias in the budget for the city's ecology

1.5 million are planned to be spent on protection and rational use of water resources

The Lutsk Territorial Community approved a list of environmental protection measures for 2023 worth more than 2.7 million hryvnias.

Thanks to the redistribution of the budget, the city environmental protection fund has increased by 1,194.7 thousand hryvnias, the Lutsk City Council reports.

It is noted that the funds will be directed to:

  • 300,000 – preservation of the nature reserve fund;
  • 1.57 million – protection and rational use of water resources;
  • 50,000 – biological reclamation of water bodies (stocking);
  • 50,000 – maintenance of automated information systems "Clean Air", accounting of green spaces, waste management;
  • 300,000 – waste management;
  • 280 thousand – protection and rational use of plant resources;
  • 244.7 thousand – holding city-wide events and actions to promote environmental protection.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Volyn region, they plan to increase the number of stationary monitoring points for the state of atmospheric air and expand the list of pollutants that are subject to monitoring. Currently, there are only 4 stationary air monitoring stations in the region, 3 of which are located in Lutsk.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Lutsk plans to clean the Styr River of sediments and silt, for which about 3.7 million hryvnias will be allocated from the city budget.
