More than 353 thousand hryvnias have already been collected for the restoration of the shelter

In Kyiv, concerned townspeople began to restore the burnt open shelter for cats "Kotobaza", which was probably set on fire on September 23.

Dozens of people cleaned up the fire in 2.5 hours, reports "ShoTam?" on Facebook.

"Help is needed to sort out the fire in the cat house!" wrote the owner of the veterinary clinic, volunteer and actor Oleksiy Surovtsev after the news about the arson.

The material said that the volunteers gathered the day after the call. People also started collecting money for construction of a new home for cats. As of Wednesday, September 27, it was already possible to collect more than 353 thousand hryvnias only through "monobank".

It is noted that the process will be controlled by Surovtsev, who united people around this story.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, in the Holosiivskyi district, a fire broke out in an animal shelter, where 21 kittens out of about 60 residents of the shelter died. The police have opened criminal proceedings, because the probable cause of the fire was arson.

As EcoPolitic reported, a mural "Family for a Four-Legged" was opened in Kyiv at 23 Zolotoustivska Street, which depicts animal volunteer Anastasia Tykha, who on foot rescued dogs with disabilities from the war-torn city of Irpen at the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
