Public figure Maksym Bakhmatov and Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi held a series of meetings to save the Holosiiv National Nature Park of Kyiv.
They discussed the problems of building the Belychansky forest, preserving the Holosiivska tower and returning Holosiivska forest to the status of a recreational and natural zone, Bakhmatov reports on Facebook.
Among the problems of the Holosiiv forest, the message mentions:
- illegal IRFs in the protected area;
- illegal and dangerous activities for children (where in a dangerous situation it is impossible to find a responsible person);
- chemical discharges into ponds that destroy the natural environment and kill animals;
- illegal pontoons on bodies of water, which are also dangerous for visitors;
- illegal buildings in the protected area.
Bakhmatov noted that in order to solve these problems, the activists met with the head of the Ministry of Environment, Ruslan Strilts, and began active cooperation with his deputy Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi. The following topics have already been discussed:
- protection of the Belychan Forest from construction;
The report explained that the forest is located on 4,000 hectares in the Svyatoshyn district of Kyiv. It is part of Holosiiv National Park.
"The problem lies in the desire of the developers to illegally expand the boundaries of the village of Kotsyubinsky. The war for this area has been going on for 14 years. During the meeting, decisions on how to save the site were analyzed. An action plan has been created," the author emphasized.
- preservation of the Holosiiv water tower;
It is noted that this 70-year-old tower is the 3rd dominant in Kyiv. A similar tower on the territory of the VDNG national expo center has the status of an architectural monument and is not subject to demolition, only preservation.
The report emphasized that in 2004 there was the first attempt to build a residential building on the site of the tower. The developer relied on a certificate that the tower was in a state of emergency, but it was not made public.
At the meeting Bakhmatov and Krasnolutskyi discussed several ways of preserving the tower, one of which is its complete transfer to the "Holosiivskyi" NPP.
- preservation of the Holosiiv Forest and the Rylsky Park.
It is noted that on August 28, 2019, the then Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources issued the dubious Order No. 308, which turned recreational and natural areas into economic ones. The document legalized MAFs, gazebos and other buildings in the forest.
The message emphasized the need for a complete review of the park's zoning in order to restore the status of recreational zones.
"The next plan is to go directly to the territory of the forest," Bakhmatov wrote. – Next personal meeting later. And there we will proceed to action."
As EcoPolitic reported before, public figure Maksym Bakhmatov called to mark the dubious order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources No. 308, which turned the protected area of the Holosiyiv forest in Kyiv into a farm.
