In the air of Kyiv on Monday morning, September 5, there is heavy smoke due to fires in peat bogs in the region.
Rescuers are extinguishing fires near the village of Sosnovka in the Vyshgorod district and near the village of Pervoe May in the Brovarsky district, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region reports on Facebook.
The rescuers of the Kyiv region keep the situation with peat fires under control.
Although the elimination of fires in peatlands is a long process, however, a small area of fire is easier to eliminate. Do not try to eliminate them yourself, it can be very dangerous.
"If new sources of ignition of peat bogs are discovered, immediately inform the Rescue Service at 101," the State Emergency Service urged.
KuivCity also warned that with such smoke it is necessary to follow the recommendations of experts:
- keep windows closed, especially at night and in the morning;
- if possible, should not be in the open air;
- if available, air conditioning and air purification systems should be turned on;
- drink plenty of water and do wet cleaning.
If you experience cough, shortness of breath or insomnia, you should consult a doctor.
