Officials of the National Police of Ukraine are the most active in declaring virtual assets in their declarations

The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management, Oleh Bondarenko, indicated in his declaration for 2024 that he had 80 bitcoins (BTC), which as of April 1 is equal to UAH 279.4 million.

This is reported by the online service Opendatabot.

The chairman of the environmental committee became the leader in terms of the amount of this cryptocurrency among all officials who filed declarations.

Who else is the richest in different cryptocurrencies

MP Serhiy Maisel has the most ethereum (ETH): he owns 200 tokens. This is equivalent to UAH 15.5 million. Vitaliy Brovko, the head of a department at the Prosecutor General's Office, is the leader in terms of crypto dollars (USDT). In his declaration, he indicated 847,908 USDT, which is currently estimated at UAH 35 million.

Opendatabot noted that there are several ex-officials who could have been in this top, but indicated that they had lost access to their crypto assets.

For example, the record amount among Ukrainian officials – 380.95 bitcoins – was declared in 2021 by Roman Saramaga, Deputy Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, but has now been lost. As of April 1, 2025, this equals about UAH 1.33 billion (!!!) in hryvnia equivalent.

The largest amount of etherium – 1,800 units or more than UAH 140 million as of April 1 of this year – belonged to Ihor Osipov, a deputy of the Podil District Council of Odesa Oblast. However, in his 2024 declaration, the official indicated that he had lost access to this cryptocurrency.

Which government agencies have the most crypto owners

Opendatabot stated that Ukrainian officials are increasingly indicating cryptocurrency in their declarations every year. In 2024, there were 2,113 such declarations. This is 2.2 times more than before the start of the full-scale war and 10% more than in 2023.
