Residents paid only 30% of the cost of the work

The Svitanok 19 condominium in Novy Rozdol, Lviv region, has been transformed from an ordinary building with high energy consumption into energy-efficient housing that uses half as much energy as neighboring buildings. The project also had a decarbonization effect, as the production of saved energy was accompanied by emissions of 115 tons of CO2 per year.

This was reported by the Energy Efficiency Fund.

The path to energy efficiency

A typical five-story building constructed in 1984 had long had problems with heating. The outdated system worked unevenly, and while some apartments were cold, others were too hot.

The residents took note of the example of a neighboring building, which had previously taken advantage of Package A of the Energodim program, and decided to also participate in the Energy Efficiency Fund project.

The work was carried out gradually. First, an individual heating point was installed, then the roof and walls were insulated.

Project indicators

The energy modernization of Svitanok 19 cost UAH 10.2 million: UAH 3.1 million was paid by the owners of the apartments in the building, and UAH 7.1 million was compensated by the Energy Efficiency Fund.

In total, the cost of the work for a single 60 sq. m apartment was approximately UAH 57,000, and the annual savings after completion of the project will be approximately UAH 7,600 per year. Therefore, in just 7.5 years, the project will pay for itself and bring net and tangible savings to residents.

The entire condominium association will save more than UAH 400,000 on heating per year. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions from the generation of the necessary energy will be reduced by 115 tons per year.

As of the end of 2025, the Energy Efficiency Fund has disbursed 4.2 billion UAH in grants under the Energodom, GreenDOM, and VidnovyDIM programs.
