Specialists of the Operational Headquarters have already entered more than 300 cases into the Unified Register of Ecological Losses

As a result of a full-scale invasion, Ukraine is undergoing devastating environmental interference, but there are 5 worst environmental crimes.

This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Government Committee on Ecopolitics and Chief Coordinator of the Operational Headquarters for Fixing Environmental Crimes Olena Kryvoruchkina, reports Focus.

She noted that the intervention of the Russian Federation is widespread and massive, but anti-top brings the greatest harm to the state and affects, or will affect in the future, the lives of all citizens

Atmospheric air pollution

Air pollutants will remain in our lungs and provoke cancer and other dangerous diseases. We are talking about long-term consequences.

"Explosions of oil depots, fires at enterprises and chemical plants - all this can not happen just like that," - said Krivoruchkina.

Pollution of the Black and Azov seas

In peacetime, the oil slick in any area attracts public attention, and the necessary efforts are made to overcome the consequences. However, it is currently impossible to influence anything.

"No one can predict how much more oil will flow into the sea," she said.

Forests

Ukrainian forests suffer from fires, forced logging for the army, and Russians steal wood.

Mines

It is necessary to demine both soils and waters. Currently, it finds 400-600 mines in the Black Sea alone, which fall from the anchor, drift and explode, taking lives. Kryvoruchkina noted that the scale of mining in Ukraine is incredible.

Explosion of a dam on the North Crimean canal

In addition to the damage from the explosion, the theft of water by the occupiers alone is estimated at UAH 32.6 million per day from the budget of Ukraine, ie for the entire period of the invasion it is over UAH 3 billion.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Operational Headquarters has processed information on more than 2,200 events that may have included an environmental crime, of which more than 300 cases have already been entered in the Unified Register of Ecological Damage. Additional information is currently being collected on these facts.

We will remind, ecologist of the park "Tuzla estuaries" told how war destroys the reserve.

As EcoPolitics reported earlier, it became known how many dolphins were killed by the war,  started by Russia.
