DTEK plans to make a whole ecosystem of RES stations with energy storage systems

DTEK General Director Maksym Timchenko said that the company plans to build a wind power plant in Ukraine and install a 20 MW energy storage system, as well as implement SES and WPP projects in European countries.

There have been no fundamental changes in the corporate strategy until 2030, and the development of green generation remains a priority for DTEK, reports Economic truth.

"Even against the background of the destruction, we are, for example, looking at building a wind farm. Despite the fact that all our wind generation remained on the occupied territory," Timchenko said.

He said that DTEK is not stopping the project to install a battery with a capacity of 20 MW, which will play an important role in balancing.

"It may not be such a large volume, but in this situation it is important," Timchenko explained.

According to him, within the framework of projects for the construction of wind and solar stations, DTEK plans to create an entire ecosystem of RES stations with energy storage systems.

"It was very important for me to hear from the president [of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi] the position that it is necessary to create a green hub in Ukraine for the supply of electricity to the EU and to help Europe move away from total dependence on Russian energy resources. We have all the possibilities for this: and access to the network, and topography, and wind, and sun, and experience. Therefore, we will prioritize building "green" generation," he said.

Timchenko also emphasized that DTEK planned the first investments in other countries in its strategy.

"According to this strategy, we continue it," he said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the company DTEK VDE wants to build a wind farm in eastern Romania with a capacity of 60 MW.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the general director of DTEK Maksym Timchenko said that the company is considering the possibility resumption of construction of one of the RES facilities.
