The mayor of Kharkiv was approached about the barbaric cutting down of trees in the city

The eco-activist demands that the city authorities report on 5 points

Head of the NGO "Kharkiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Nature" Artem Prikhodko, expressed his concern to the director of the Kharkivzelenbud KP regarding the cutting of trees under the trunk. He also appealed to the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, with demands to stop the barbaric crowning of trees in the city.

Prikhodko during participation at the conference on the reconstruction of Kharkiv "Government + Community" voiced 5 demands, which he included in the petition to the mayor of Kharkiv:

  1. To ensure compliance with the requirements of the current legislation in the field of handling green areas on the territory of the city of Kharkiv, to prohibit the destruction, in particular through "topping", of green areas in the city of Kharkiv, to carry out appropriate measures to maintain green areas in accordance with the Rules and current legislation of Ukraine.
  2. To organize and ensure the work of communal enterprises of the territorial community of the city of Kharkiv, whose powers include the maintenance of green areas of the city of Kharkiv – in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
  3. To ensure the functioning of the web page of KP "Kharkivzelenbud" on which, in order to realize the right of everyone to access public information, to ensure the transparency and openness of the posted information, – to post and post information about the company's activities, namely: the Charter of the company, publication of the Register of green areas of the city , materials of the inventory of green areas of the city, work plans of the enterprise, reports on the work performed and the use of funds allocated to the enterprise from the budget of the territorial community of the city of Kharkiv.
  4. For the purpose of keeping records of green spaces, records of green economy objects of our city – to ensure the maintenance of this Register in accordance with the requirements of the Rules for ensuring the compilation and maintenance of the Register
  5. Publicly before the city community – to carry out annual reporting on the measures taken to care for and protect green spaces and their increase within the Kharkiv City Council.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in March in Kharkiv on the embankment, the crowns of 18 out of 19 trees were completely cut off, turning them into trunks.
