It is planned to be commissioned in the third quarter of this year

The construction of the Sokal small hydroelectric power plant has begun on the territory of Sheptytsky district, Lviv region, on the Western Bug River.

This was reported by the Eco-Optima group of companies.

The project is being implemented by Firm Liga Ltd, a member of the group. Roman Karpinsky, Director of Firm Liga, said that the installed capacity of the HPP is 999 kWh. This will make it possible to generate an average of 6.5 million kWh per year.

The company has already carried out preparatory work: a construction site has been arranged, the necessary materials and equipment have been delivered, work has been carried out to fence off the water in the lower pool, and a dry dock has been created where the power plant building will be erected and the power generating equipment will be installed.

The project stipulates that the generation will be carried out by a vertical Kaplan turbine with a nominal maximum power output of 1078 kW. It was manufactured by the Czech company Mavel.

To transmit the generated electricity, a 1250 kVA transformer substation has already been installed and a 6 kV overhead line has been built to connect the HPP to Lvivoblenergo's networks.

As EcoPolitic reported in early February, the Eco-Optima group of companies will receive €40 million from Oschadbank for the construction of the Sokal wind farm. We also told you that this group of companies owns one of the 5 largest wind farms in free Ukraine – Orivska Wind Farm, located near Truskavets.
