Additional funds will enable the financing of more than 300 energy efficiency projects in 2025

This year, the State Energy Efficiency Fund will receive an additional UAH 240 million. It is expected that these funds will be used to finance existing energy modernization and housing renovation projects – Energodim, VidnoviDim, and GreenDim.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Fund's capital will be increased at the expense of the Ukrainian budget for 2025.

The Fund's operating model provides for co-financing of programs: 20% of the funds are to come from the Fund and 80% from international donors. Therefore, the additional UAH 240 million will allow for the attraction of additional funds from partners – about €20 million.

"The last state contributions to the Fund's capital were made in 2021. The lack of such resources creates risks for the further financing of grants and attracting international assistance, in particular from the EU and the German government, which finance up to 80% of the Fund's programs," the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development explains.

Distribution of funds

In 2025, these funds will allow for the implementation of an additional 328 projects:

  • under the “Energodim” program – 144 projects for UAH 124.8 million;
  • under the “VidnovyDIM” program – 112 projects for UAH 49.05 million;
  • under the “GreenDIM” program – 72 projects for UAH 66.09 million.

The Energy Efficiency Fund aims to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in the housing stock. It finances energy modernization and housing renovation projects that take into account modern energy efficiency practices.

For example, EcoPolitics reported that thanks to comprehensive modernization under the Energodim program, a condominium in Lviv has not consumed energy from the general grid since May.

Recently, the Decarbonization Fund joined the modernization of condominiums under the Energodim program for the first time.
