Due to the eco-tax, budgets received additional funds for the implementation of green policies

Since the beginning of the year, Zaporizhzhia enterprises have paid UAH 275 million in environmental taxes to the budget. This figure exceeded last year's by more than UAH 11 million.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Entrepreneurs paid UAH 221 million to the state budget and almost UAH 55 million to local budgets. In August, enterprises transferred more than UAH 97 million to budgets for environmental pollution, which is almost UAH 10 million more than a year ago.

According to Oksana Fedorova, head of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in the Zaporizhzhia region, these funds will contribute to improving the environmental situation in the region and help finance environmental protection programs.

It should be noted that the environmental tax is paid for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, for discharges of toxins into water, for improper waste management, and for the storage of radioactive waste.

According to statistics, Zaporizhzhia enterprises are actively fulfilling their tax obligations, and the region's environmental policy is only gaining momentum.

Earlier, EcoPolitics reported that the Verkhovna Rada voted for amendments to the Tax Code related to the eco-tax. It is planned to replace the current permits (for emissions, water use, and waste management) with integrated environmental permits.
