The Ukrainian company MHP has started commercial production of liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG) and made the first delivery of this renewable biofuel to its European partner.

The Ukrainian agricultural holding produces Bio-LNG entirely from poultry manure and other agricultural waste. The company has certified its liquefied biomethane according to the ISCC EU standard. MHP emphasized that it fully meets the sustainability criteria of the EU Renewable Energy Directives (RED II and RED III).
“We are turning poultry manure into a climate-friendly fuel that can already power trucks and ships across Europe,” said Adomas Audickas, MHP Group Deputy CEO in charge of bioenergy development.
The company reminded that it has been systematically investing in bioenergy infrastructure for more than 10 years. According to MHP, they manage one of the largest biogas project portfolios in Europe, which has now been supplemented by Bio-LNG production.
As a reminder, this domestic agricultural holding is a leader in chicken production in Europe and is among the top 10 global chicken producers according to the WattPoultry rating. This allows it to receive large volumes of poultry manure and other agricultural waste and process them into biofuels.
