Ukraine's only manufacturer of megawatt-class wind power equipment, the Friendly Wind Technology plant, plans to increase production from 30 to 100 wind turbines per year in 2025.

This was reported by Energoreforma with reference to the company's CEO Vladyslav Yeremenko.

The company relocated from Kramatorsk to Zakarpattia after the outbreak of a full-scale war.

Vladyslav Yeremenko said that the company realized that the existing production volumes would not be enough to meet the existing challenges. Therefore, the shareholders decided to expand the company's production capacity.

During this year and early 2026, the plant plans to commission additional lines for the production of wind power equipment and reach approximately 100 wind turbines per year.

To expand production, the company plans to raise funds from investors, state-owned banks, as well as its own financial resources from the production and sale of electricity.

The CEO also said that the company has launched a program with Oschadbank, which in October 2024 provided a loan of UAH 147 million under the 5-7-9% program for the purchase of a LIEBHERR LG 1750 self-propelled crane, which will be the second in Ukraine in terms of lifting capacity, lifting height and boom reach. Friendly Wind Technology is also expanding its programs with Ukrgasbank and Sens Bank.

Vladyslav Yeremenko said that 8 out of 16 wind turbines of the first wind farm in Zakarpattia, in the Nyzhnevoritska community, are already in operation. The wind farm is expected to be fully operational in the first half of this year.

EcoPolitic reported in May 2024 that Friendly Wind Technology had launched a newly built workshop in Zakarpattia.
