A thematically tinted car has appeared in the capital, collecting used batteries at collection points and delivering them to warehouses for further processing.

The eco-car has a striking design: it is equipped with lighting that imitates the pulsation of energy and a large decorative magnet that seems to attract used batteries.
The launch of such an unusual vehicle was a joint project of Profpererobka and the all-Ukrainian eco-movement “Batteries, Give Up!”.
How this initiative works
The new car delivers used batteries from the eco-movement's collection points to the warehouse. They are stored there until a sufficient batch is accumulated to send them to recycling plants. Ecorukh cooperates with the following companies: Eneris Recupyl in Poland, Accurec in Germany, EraSteel in France, and others.
The activists of the “Batteries, Give Up!” movement together with the contractor, the Environmental Investments company, take care of sending batteries for recycling. The activists emphasize that all stages of transportation are transparently recorded: from the collection point to the plant, and reports are regularly published on the initiative's website.

What are the first results?
During the first test month, the eco-machine has already delivered more than 5 tons of batteries to the warehouse. They were handed over by conscious Kyivans to the collection points of the “Batteries, Give Up!” eco-movement, which operate in partnership with EpicenterK, Silpo, NOVUS, Velmart, JYSK, Comfy, FOZZY, and METRO, as well as in educational institutions and residential buildings that joined the project.
Who finances recycling
Both the aforementioned retail chains and battery distributors who have partnered with the “Batteries, Give Up!” movement are involved in financing battery recycling: Panasonic, VARTA, Duracell, GP Batteries and other brands as part of the producer responsibility system.
Profpererobka covered the cost of transportation of the batteries to the right bank of Kyiv.
Activists reminded that not all battery collection points in Kyiv properly report on their recycling. They urged to check the reliability of your collection points on the EcoMovement website.
