Existing retail outlets will also receive them gradually

NOVUS has included a rooftop solar power plant (SPP) in the construction standard for its new stores.

This was announced in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine by Oleksiy Panasenko, Deputy CEO for Operations at NOVUS.

The company plans to equip up to 30 stores of the chain with solar power plants in the next 2 years.

The Deputy CEO also said that NOVUS is actively implementing green technologies:

  • heat recovery systems;
  • LED lighting;
  • energy-saving refrigeration equipment;
  • solar panels on the roofs of new facilities and existing outlets.

According to Oleksiy Panasenko, the company also plans to use gas power generators, which are more energy efficient than diesel ones (cogeneration – IF-U). As part of the pilot project, NOVUS wants to equip two facilities with them – a logistics center and one of its stores.

Another pilot project planned by the company for 2025 is the use of heat pumps to reduce energy costs.

Recently, EcoPolitic reported that this year Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, and lifecell launched pilot projects to install solar power plants at their base stations.
