Firefighters were notified of the fire today at 08:22

In the village of Barmaki, 1.5 km from Rivne, a garbage dump is burning.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Rivne region.

To eliminate the fire are working:

  • 4 tankers;
  • the operational coordination center of the regional administration of the State Emergency Service;
  • tank truck of the local fire brigade of the village. Spaniards;
  • 2 water trucks;
  • KATP 1728 bulldozer.

The State Emergency Service assures that the situation is under the full control of the rescuers. More information about the fire is promised after its final liquidation.

Exactly one year ago, on July 19, 2023, EcoPolitics has already reported about a fire at a landfill near Rivne. Its probable cause was called the self-ignition of landfill gas methane.

We have also previously reported that hot weather and neglect of fire safety regulations cause large-scale fires. So, on July 10, on the territory of the Nizhny Dniester National Nature Park, near the village of Nadlymanske, Odesa Region there was a fire , which caused more than UAH 890 million in damage to the environment and left hundreds of storks, pheasants, and roe deer without their usual habitats.

Also due to dry weather on the left bank of the Kherson region were smooth.
