Employees of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have withdrawn from illegal use a 2.5-hectare forest land plot worth almost UAH 50 million, where an entrepreneur was engaged in fish farming.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors found that a state executive body illegally leased a land plot with a water body on the territory of the Skvyra City Council to an entrepreneur for fish farming. They noted that land and forestry legislation does not provide for the use of land of this category for such purposes.

In court, the prosecutors proved the unlawfulness of the actions of the state executive body in disposing of the forest fund lands and using them for other purposes. Therefore, the Economic Court of Kyiv Region upheld the prosecutor's claim and returned the land plot to the state.

Previously, EcoPolitic told that Lutsk District Prosecutor's Office through the court demanded land plots of the nature reserve fund with an area of more than 30 hectares and a value of almost UAH 485 million be returned to the state.
