Prosecutors of the Terebovlya District Prosecutor's Office have filed a lawsuit to recover more than UAH 5 million in damages from the local government for the damage and land pollution caused.

The basis for the lawsuit was the failure of the village council to fulfill its statutory obligations in 2021-2022, namely the elimination of illegal landfills, the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office reports on Facebook.

The decision of the Ternopil Oblast Commercial Court initiated proceedings in this case.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, forest guards discovered in Rivne region and Volyn 302 landfills in or near state forests.
