This will allow you to monitor air quality around the clock

Radiation background and air quality monitoring devices will be installed in the Smolinska community in Kirovohrad region.

The data from the devices will be available online, the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the relevant memorandum was signed by the deputy head of the regional administration Yuriy Mykolayenko, representatives of the Smolyn village council and the NGO Save Dnipro.

The press service emphasized that such stations will expand the possibilities of monitoring the state of the region's environment.

"An effective monitoring system is extremely important today. It ensures the right of citizens to receive information about the state of the environment. In addition, it enables everyone to participate in the development and formation of policies to improve air quality," said Yuriy Mykolayenko.

The report adds that the equipment will allow to conduct research on air quality and radiation background around the clock. It will also allow taking measures to minimize the risk to public health.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the first half of 2023, Kropyvnytskyi was among the TOP 20 cities in Ukraine with the highest level of air pollution.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the second regional office of decarbonization and energy efficiency in Ukraine was launched in Kropyvnytskyi, which will help implement the European energy efficiency policy.
