In one week, environmental violators compensated 1.9 million hryvnias of damages

In Vinnytsia region, environmental inspectors discovered the illegal felling of 112 trees in the forest belt of the Rayhorod territorial community, which caused UAH 902,600 in damage.

This was the largest environmental violation of the week of February 2-8, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Facebook.

The case file was handed over to the police.

It is noted that Chernihiv region also became the anti-leader. Thus, environmental inspectors calculated more than 850.6 thousand hryvnias in damages from the felling of black alders on the territory of the protected tract of local importance "Torchyn" of the Chernihiv forestry. The case file was also handed over to the police.

The report said that during the week, environmental inspectors conducted 163 control measures and drew up 238 reports on administrative offenses. The total amount of fines imposed reached UAH 82 thousand.

The press service added that during this time, the police also:

  • eco-inspectors calculated 3.5 million hryvnias in damages for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation and presented claims and lawsuits for 1.5 million hryvnias;
  • UAH 68,000 was charged to the State Budget;
  • environmental violators voluntarily and forcibly compensated 1.9 million hryvnias of damages.

Earlier, that in the Dnipropetrovsk region, eco-inspectors discovered illegal felling of 104 oaks to the point of stopping growth in the Pyatikhat community, which caused 1.48 million hryvnias in damages.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, four residents of the Kyiv region will be tried for illegal logging, which caused damage of more than 1.5 million hryvnias.
