In two months, the SPP generated 6.6 MW of electricity

In the Dolyna territorial community in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the water utility has avoided emitting 3.17 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in two months thanks to a solar power plant.

The 140 kW solar power plant was installed at the treatment facilities of the Vodokanal utility company, community head Ivan Dyriv reports on Facebook.

"The solar power plant of KP "Vodokanal" continues to work for the enterprise and the community, – he wrote. "It will only get better."

The head of the community said that during its operation the solar power plant generated 6.6 MW of electricity, namely:

  • 3.2 MW – in December;
  • 3.4 MW – in January.

According to Dyriv's statistical information, the SPP saved 2.67 tons of coal, and its work is already equivalent to planting 5 trees.

He added that the cost of the solar power plant reached 4.7 million hryvnias.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Ivano-Frankivsk region in Dolyna, the first communal solar power plant with batteries was installed on the roof of the "Teremok" kindergarten.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Mukachevo, in Zakarpattia Oblast, a water intake station with solar panels with a capacity of 20 kW was equipped. In clear weather, the SES fully meets the needs of a small water intake.
