556.4 MW of green generation capacities are connected to networks in the Odesa region

In 2023, DTEK, the distribution system operator, connected 306 solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 67 MW to the grid in Odesa region.

Renewables will help decentralize and improve the efficiency of Ukraine's energy system and generally increase its resilience and flexibility, DTEK Odesa Power Grids reports.

The report emphasized that the importance of small autonomous power generation facilities has increased significantly after Russian attacks on Ukraine's power system in 2022-2023.

"According to government plan transformation of the Ukrainian energy industry, by 2050 the capacity of green generation should increase significantly. During the current year, we have connected 306 solar power plants to the grid," said Dmytro Grigoriev, CEO of DTEK Odesa Electric Grid.

He added that despite the war, the company continues to develop networks, which allows connecting and using new renewable energy facilities.

It is noted that a total of 2,724 RES facilities with a total capacity of 556.4 MW are connected to the networks in the Odesa region.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Odesa on January 8 near Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi as a result of a drone attack a wind turbine of the company Elementum Energy was damaged.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, solar power plants will be installed in Odesa and two other regions in 2024-2026 at the buildings of the Centers for the provision of administrative services (TsNAP).
