The resort will be able to accommodate 18,000 vacationers at the same time

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Polyanytsk village council announced the start of a strategic environmental assessment (SEA) of the Bystrytsia ski resort project with an area of 1,200 hectares.

The project envisages the construction "from scratch" of 180 km of ski tracks, as well as 600 hectares of hotels and other buildings, according to eco-activists from the Free Svydovets community on Facebook.

"In addition to the Svydovets resort, companies associated with Kolomoisky and Palytsia have planned the construction of two other megaresorts on the ridges adjacent to Svydovets. And the local authorities are already preparing the necessary documents for construction," eco-activists emphasized.

It is noted that the resort will be able to accommodate 18,000 vacationers at the same time. The project also provides for the construction of a new power transmission line with a length of 35 km.

Eco-activists emphasized that they plan to build a resort in the middle of the Carpathian forests, probably on the northern slopes of the Bratkiv ridge.

They added that a report from the CEO should soon appear on the village council's website with detailed maps of the resort and its description.

"SEO involves the participation of the public, so it will be possible to submit your own comments on the project," the message emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, the Yasinyan Village Council did not agree to the creation of a nature reserve "Free Svidovets", where they planned to build a ski mega-resort. Activists opposed such construction.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Carpathians Bukovel LLC plans to build 2 more megaresorts, in addition to the Svydovets resort, namely "Bystrytsia" and "Turbat" with a size of 1,400 hectares.
