In 2023, activists began to clear the Wet Zhikhor ravine of garbage that had been accumulating there for decades

In Kharkiv, during the 27th eco-tour on September 24, volunteers removed about 6 tons of garbage, that is, about 250 bags, from the Mokry Zhikhor ravine.

A record number of participants joined the campaign – 33 volunteers, the ecoactivist reports Artem Prykhodko on Facebook.

He emphasized that the next ecotoloc will be held on Sunday, October 3.

"A low bow and sincere thanks to everyone who joins in creating a green city of Kharkiv. With such a team, we will have everything – Zhihorets!" – wrote Prykhodko.

Movement activist Halyna Krasnobryzhaya said on Facebook that Kharkiv residents from different parts of the city joined the action, in particular from Saltivky, Nemyshlya, Rogany, Novy Budynki.

"There were many of us and we were a powerful force," she emphasized. – We are doing everything so that the equipment can go down to the ravine to help us."

She noted that during the ecotour, volunteers:

  • collected the last garbage under the left slopes from the side of the KhTZ;
  • they began to clear the basin on the right slope, from the side of the Nemyshlyan district;
  • collected garbage from below;
  • sawed down the last obstacles on the way down from the street. Raskova.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kharkiv, during the eco-walk on September 10, volunteers removed about 2.5 tons of garbage, that is, about 100 bags.
