During the first month of SES operation, 20 thousand hryvnias were saved

In Mukachevo, in the Transcarpathian region, a water intake station was equipped with solar panels with a capacity of 20 kW.

In clear weather, the SPP fully meets the needs of a small water intake, Mukachevo City Council reports on YouTube.

Oleg Kazybrid, director of the public utility company "Miskvodokanal", said that the SES was installed with the company's own funds. Therefore, a small water intake with small capacities was chosen for the pilot project.

"On a clear day, these panels provide electricity for all the equipment and we don't take a single kilowatt from the grid," he said.

It is noted that during the first month of operation of the solar power plant "Miskvodokanal" it was possible to save almost 20,000 hryvnias. The costs of installing a SPP should pay off in about 3 years.

"We plan to install solar power plants at other water intakes of the city. But other water intakes have much larger capacities, which the utility company "Milsvodokanal" is unable to provide with solar panels on its own. For this, we are considering the possibility of obtaining grant funds and loans," he added Kazirbid.

He emphasized that thanks to SPP, the company saves electricity, and therefore, significant money. In addition, the station can serve as an alternative power source during a power outage.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia on the roof of the building of the Dubivska settlement council a solar power plant was installed with a capacity of 10 kW.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Zhytomyr Oblast Zvyagel multidisciplinary hospital saved 157,000 hryvnias in 8 months thanks to the rooftop solar power plant.
