The illegal felling of trees could have been committed by one of the local residents, which should be established by the investigation

In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors discovered illegal felling of trees in the forest in the Khust region for 1.52 million hryvnias and in the regional landscape park "Prytisyanskyi" for 0.5 million UAH.

This is reported by the State Environmental Inspection in the Zakarpattia region on Facebook.

It is noted that black loggers were detained in a protected area in Vynohradiv region. Claims for damages were sent to them.

The report said that the attackers also destroyed 100 trees without any permits and compliance with limits near the village of Gorinchovo.

The eco-inspectors called an investigative team of police officers to the scene of the incident, in whose presence they took stock and measured stumps from illegally cut trees.

"According to the information received, the illegal felling of trees could have been committed by one of the local residents, to whom a letter of claim will be sent regarding his compensation to the state," the press service said, adding that the suspect's involvement the investigation should find out.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in June in Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors discovered illegal felling of trees in the regional landscape park "Prytisyanske", which caused damages of more than 45.3 million UAH.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, eco-inspectors in Transcarpathia calculated 84 million UAH in damages, caused by violators of environmental protection legislation in August.
