The green industrial zone will contribute to the city's energy independence

Japanese business representatives presented the project green industrial zone in Bucha (Kyiv region) with an area of 3,000 hectares, where green hydrogen will be produced.

During the meeting of First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko with representatives of the Japanese business delegation, the partners presented a number of modern technologies that will help speed up recovery, reports the Ministry of Economy.

It is noted that the green industrial zone in Buchi:

  • will enable local production of renewable energy, heat and fuel;
  • will contribute to the energy independence of the city.

"Despite the continuation of the war, Ukraine's economy is showing stability and adaptability and is recovering faster than previously predicted – based on the results of this year, we expect GDP growth of up to 4%. Currently, we are directing our main efforts to the reconstruction of the destroyed and invite investors to invest in the development of projects in Ukraine," said Svyridenko.

She emphasized that Ukraine is looking for ways to insure investments and has already had some success in this.

Svyridenko added that the Cabinet of Ministers has identified five priorities for rapid recovery, namely:

  • energy;
  • dwelling;
  • critical infrastructure;
  • demining;
  • economic recovery – development of small and medium-sized businesses.

It is noted that the Japanese partners, among other projects, presented a drinking water purification system with the function of autonomous operation and maintenance. They are used in evacuation centers in areas affected by natural disasters in various countries. In addition, a system for scientific support of agricultural production was presented. It collects information about the environment, weather conditions, plant growth and analyzes it with the help of artificial intelligence, as well as provides recommendations for increasing crop yields.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Buchansk community a sewage treatment plant will be built, which will run on green energy. Sewage will be treated in three stages according to European standards.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine can be and will definitely become a green energy hub for Europe.
