A project to exchange incandescent lamps for LED lamps was also implemented in Volyn

In Volyn, 6.3 million hryvnias were allocated from the regional fund for environmental protection measures.

The head of ecology and natural resources of the Volyn Regional State Administration, Valentin Kukharik, told about this during the briefing, "Volyn News" reports. It is noted that the regional ecological program "Ecology 2023-2026" is active in Volyn, but in the first half of this year funds from the state budget were not allocated for this program.

In Volyn, the main directions of environmental protection activities were: measures for the protection and rational use of water resources, resources of the plant and animal world, atmospheric air, preservation of the nature reserve fund, rational use and storage of production waste and household waste.

At the same time, UAH 6.3 million of the regional environmental protection fund (ONPS) was directed to: construction of treatment facilities in Torchyn township of Lutskyi district, reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities in Tsuman township, water drainage repair and implementation of measures to prevent flooding in the territory of Kolodyazhnenska village of the Council, conducting laboratory studies of atmospheric air quality, improvement and cleaning of meliorational systems, repair of drainage networks and domestic canals, restocking of water bodies of the region.

Also, at the expense of the funds of the regional fund of ONSP in Volyn, a project was implemented to replace incandescent lamps with LED lamps.

"Actually, this project in the region is at the final stage. In the warehouses of Ukrposhta, which is the main custodian and provider of this service, about 9-10 thousand light bulbs are waiting to be disposed of. Since the beginning of the project, 656 thousand lamps have been exchanged and disposed of in Volyn," — Valentyn Kukharyk informed.

In addition, the "Ecology 2023-2026" program is aimed at monitoring and detecting harmful substances in the atmospheric air. Daily monitoring of air quality is carried out by the Hydrometeorological Center, which has four posts in Volyn: three of them in Lutsk and one in the village of Shatsk. The number of such posts is planned to be increased – they will be installed in Novovolynsk, Kovel, and additionally in Lutsk.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, the Chernihiv Regional Council increased the budget for environmental programs for 2023 to the amount of 2.78 million hryvnias.
